AI Companion Features

Zoom's AI Companion tool set is your digital assistant for communications, recording, and whiteboard generation, all within the Zoom ecosystem.  AI helps you stay focused, lets others get caught up, keeps everyone on track increasing productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Users can view the AI Companion panel in a meeting to help with multitasking during meetings or on the Workplace app (desktop).  The settings for must be enabled in your account to take advantage of, and to customize options in each of the AI features.  Update your Zoom Desktop Client to the Most Current Version so you can use these and other Zoom features

Your district or organization determines the availability of all or some AI features; if you do not see a feature in your account, contact your IT team.  Once a feature is made available in your account, you have the option to choose which features to enable or disable - you decide!  Each feature is highlighted, along with info key icons to provide more information.  Keep in mind the articles for 'Enabling' may include instructions for both Zoom account administrators to make the features available to you, and how you as a user can enable the feature in your own account.  
 

Meeting Summary with AI Companion 

Generate a detailed AI summary using selected templates to create a summary from meeting or classroom discussions.  Keep the conversation going in Meeting Chat on the desktop app or post directly in communication integrations such as Slack and Microsoft Teams.  Summaries can be shared, edited, or deleted.

AI Companion Questions

Use pre-set questions such as "Catch me up" when joining the meeting late; other questions relevant to the content being discussed can also be asked in AI Companion Questions. Use the @mention to reference team members and ask questions specific to them.   AI Companion Questions can also be used in the Workplace app to get caught up, summarize recent messages, list action items.

Smart Recording with AI Companion

Consume recordings quickly by reviewing just Highlights, Smart Chapters and the Meeting Summary.  Next Steps lets you quickly see the upcoming activities based on the meeting.  As the host, Conversation Analytics provides insights into your speech speed, tone, and use of filler words—helping you improve your presentation skills.

Zoom's AI feature, Team Chat Summary, allows users to catch up quickly on chat threads without having to read each message and response, especially in long conversations! Once your Zoom admin has enabled the feature for your district or organization, you can start taking advantage of this time-saving feature.

Whiteboard Content Generation with AI Companion

Generate ideas, refine and extend existing content, and add objects to a canvas. The Whiteboard Content Generation feature helps users add and refine whiteboard contents, generates sticky notes, tables, and texts. Edit existing whiteboard content, organize sticky notes, format tables, and edit text from your website portal account.  The Whiteboard tool is available in the TechConnect Zoom Canvas integration.

MyNotes

My notes is a personal note-taking capability that lets you take notes during a meeting or webinar without the need to record.  MyNotes captures the speakers voice, along with allowing you to add to the transcript with your own notes. The resulting notes are yours and are not automatically shared with the meeting or webinar host or other meeting or webinar participants. Accessible from the Zoom desktop app, you can use My notes for Zoom Meetings, Zoom Webinars, in-person meetings, or virtual meetings on other platforms.

AI Companion on the Web

Use AI Companion on the web when you sign into your Zoom account then navigate to AI Companion on the left navigation menu. 

AI Companion on the web allows you to ask questions, retrieve information from your Zoom content or connected sources, help you write, and perform deep research with AI assistance.  It supports conversation, agentic retrieval, writing, and deep research modes, and includes built-in agent assistants for quick actions such as post-meeting follow-ups, status reports, project tracking, and more.
