The Zoom App Marketplace allows users to download third-party apps for managing various aspects of their Zoom account, meetings, and calendars. While Zoom provides access to these apps, Zoom does not provide support.
Some apps can be downloaded without administrative approval while others require the Zoom administrator to approve. Apps which require administrative approval may not be authorized due to security concerns, support issues, or potential impact to others in a meeting.
Web-based apps use bots to join meetings. These apps are not controlled by Zoom, and unless the user selects the appropriate settings, there is a risk of unauthorized access to data, recorded video, or meeting content without notifying participants or giving them the option to leave.
If enabled by a Zoom account admin, users can begin Integrating AI Companion with third-party apps to streamline their workflows. This feature allows integration with Jira to create, update, delete, search, and summarize tickets using AI Companion.
We recommend using Zoom apps when possible. There is a difference between Zoom Apps and integrations from the Zoom App Marketplace:
- Zoom Apps are a new type of app in the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Zoom Apps are in-meeting apps that allow you to use third-party apps within Zoom Meetings.
- Integrations from the Zoom App Marketplace integrate Zoom into third-party apps.
Your administrator may need to enable Zoom Apps on your account or approve apps individually, depending on your account settings.
