Q&A
Q: When will the remaining colleges transition?
A: Migration will take place during the summer of 2026, after the spring semester ends. TechConnect and WeVideo will communicate with Canvas Administrators well in advance of each migration.
Q: My college has not migrated yet. I use PlayPosit for lecture assignments. Do I need to make any changes over the summer for Fall 2026?
A: No changes are required in Canvas for existing PlayPosit content. Your Canvas Administrator can coordinate the migration over the summer so you can take advantage of WeVideo’s newest features.
Q: I can see both PlayPosit and WeVideo in Canvas. Do I need to remove the PlayPosit tool?
A: No action is required on your part. If both tools appear in Canvas, continue using WeVideo. After migration, continued use of PlayPosit is not recommended and may lead to long-term issues. Managing or hiding Canvas integrations is handled by your Canvas Administrator.
Q: How do I access WeVideo through Canvas?
A: The recording of the January 27, 2026, presentation, Transitioning from PlayPosit to WeVideo: Next-Level Interactive Learning, includes a demonstration of how to access WeVideo through Canvas from 00:15:28–00:19:20. Launching WeVideo through Canvas assignments enables grade sync.
Q: Can I go directly to the WeVideo website and then use Canvas to select the assignment?
A: Yes. You may build your content directly in WeVideo, then access and assign it in Canvas via the external tool.
Q: How do I sign in to WeVideo? Is it different from my Canvas login?
A: You may sign in directly at the WeVideo website or access WeVideo through Canvas. Your institutional email address is your WeVideo username.
Q: Will my PlayPosit login credentials work for WeVideo?
A: Yes. You may continue using the same institutional login credentials.
Q: What if I want my students to create and edit videos using WeVideo?
A: WeVideo provides a Classroom space that allows instructors to create classes, roster students, and assign video-based work. An assignment ideas library is also available.
WeVideo Article: How do I create assignments in my class with the Assignment Ideas Library?
Q: Will student recordings upload to the Canvas Gradebook for grading?
A: Student recordings do not upload directly to the Canvas Gradebook. Submissions and grading are accessed through the WeVideo Monitor page, which is linked from your Canvas assignment. The recording of the January 27, 2026, presentation, Transitioning from PlayPosit to WeVideo: Next-Level Interactive Learning, includes a demonstration of Monitor page navigation from 00:36:32–00:38:33 and the Canvas grading workflow from 00:38:45–00:39:10.

A: Yes, on Windows computers.

Q: Color alone is used to indicate correct and incorrect answers. This may not be accessible for all users.
A: Thank you for sharing this feedback. It will be shared with the product team as accessibility enhancements continue to be explored.
Q: Under account settings, I see 22 GB of storage and an expiration date of December 17, 2125. Is this correct?
