Instructors can run an attendance report and a poll report from within the Zoom application in Canvas. You can also access your meeting recordings and control the share settings of the recordings in the Canvas application.
Run a Report
- Locate your meeting under the Previous Meetings tab.
- Click on Report to the right of the meeting ID.
- Select the tab for the type of report you'd like to access. Meeting Report will give attendance details for the meeting. Poll Report will provide you with meeting poll responses. Attendance Grade Report allows instructors to quickly generate attendance grades based on the meeting attendance report. You also have the option to export a report to a CSV file.
Accessing Recordings
You can access the Course Zoom recordings by clicking on the Cloud Recordings tab. You can download a recording, edit a recording, and copy the share link for the recording.
- Click on the Cloud Recordings tab.
- Click on the topic of your meeting recording.
- Click on the recording to view and/or trim it. Click on Download to download a file to your local computer. Click on Share for a shareable link to the recording.
Publish
If you see the option to Publish your recording, that will publish the recording to your Canvas Course, making it available for your students to watch. If there is no Publish option, your videos will be automatically be viewable by your students as soon as they are processed.
Note: Types of recording files that generate and the share settings for the recordings, are based on your web portal recording settings. If your students get an error that they cannot view a recording due to 'no permission', even if you have published your recordings to the Course, you'll need to log into your account in the Zoom web portal, outside of Canvas, to check your recording settings. Recover a Deleted Recording
If you delete a recording from Zoom in Canvas it deletes from the zoom web portal as well. If you need to recover the deleted recording, log into the web portal and follow the below steps:
- Click on Recordings in the left navigation.
- Click on Trash in the top right corner of your Cloud Recordings.
- Locate the deleted recording and on the far right of the topic, click on Recover. The recording will then be recovered from Zoom in Canvas as well.
Note: If you import a meeting that was recorded, the recording will be imported as well.
