Your TechConnect Zoom account can be accessed in two ways for scheduling, hosting, and/or
attending meetings you have been invited to join.
- The Zoom web portal is accessed from a web browser at https://www.conferzoom.org.
- The Zoom desktop client is an app that resides on your local computer or other devices.
Features may vary when signing in through the Zoom desktop client, mobile app, and website portal.
The Zoom website portal has your complete account settings. However, the desktop app is used to update your account to the latest version of Zoom, enable virtual backgrounds, and an alternate location to schedule, view, or join meetings.
Signing in through the Chrome OS Zoom app will have limited features, Zoom recommends the desktop client or mobile app to join meetings.
Visit the Zoom site for more detailed comparisons by viewing the table below for a comparison of features between the Zoom desktop clients, mobile apps, web client, and PWA (Progressive Web App): https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360027397692-Desktop-Client-and-Mobile-App-Comparison.

Zoom Client for Meetings (Zoom desktop app)
The first time you host or join a meeting from your computer, the Zoom desktop app downloads to your desktop - it may appear as a shortcut on your desktop or in your programs. We recommend moving the icon to your desktop or task bar for easy access. The app can be downloaded in advance of your first meeting from https://zoom.us/download. The desktop client is a convenient way to schedule, host, and join a meeting.
The desktop client also has additional settings not available in your account on the website.
Some settings are specific to the device you are using. Click on the wheel/gear in the top right corner
under your initials (or profile picture). A window will open with your desktop client settings.
