ConferZoom in Canvas is a tool for teachers to schedule live class meetings using Zoom. Students will join the live class from the course page; students do not need a Zoom account to participate.
Sign into Canvas and access your course, then on the left navigation select ConferZoom; note that some schools may have customized the name of the tool.
Overview of the ConferZoom Page
Meetings scheduled for the course appear on the Event Calendar. The Join button becomes active 15 minutes prior to the start time; the Join button appears both on the left navigation and when clicking the + icon in the view page. Expand the details with the More Details link which opens in a separate browser window.
Instructors may offer private one-on-one appointment slots to meet with students. Students can reserve an appointment, or the instructor can reserve an appointment on behalf of the student. Learn how to reserve appointments.
When the instructor records the class session, the recording will download to the course for viewing. All classes will be listed, although not all may have been recorded. Locate the Name or Date for the class, then click View Recordings.
If a recording was made, the options for viewing will be displayed. Recordings can be delayed in downloading due to file size or server activity. The Check Recordings button will change to Force Recheck after the first attempt to check for a recording.
Files designated with (Streaming) run on the web; all others will open in a player or downloaded file.
