Q. During a Zoom meeting I often want to shrink the portion of my computer screen occupied by the Zoom view.
I have tried everything to no avail. Please help.

Q. Are our mics live?
A. All participants are muted.
Q. I have no controls for video or audio for this workshop, so want to be sure my mic isn’t on. Looks like you’ve disable both?
A. Correct.
Q. If we used Conferzoom last semester, do we need to change our account now.
A. No. This response depends on if your District Help Desk manages your account now. If so, you will be using TechConnect Zoom instead of ConferZoom in Canvas.
Q. ConferZoom sounds better and is cleaner than TechConnect Zoom. Does Tech Connect have a say in surveys and polls in Zoom and making them more user friendly in libraries like Slido and PollAnywhere do?

Q. Will TechConnect be approving Marketplace app requests (for third party integration) any time soon?

Q. Please elaborate on the 30 hours limit. Is this a new feature?

Q. This changed I don't think we can do the office hour booking with our TechConnect Zoom (I did have it with ConferZoom).
A. Hi Chantal, in order to have office hours feature you will need to contact your Canvas admin to install our new Student Connect or please contact support@cccctechconnect.org

Q. If we don’t have TechConnect Zoom yet at our campus, what is the equivalent to Student Connect? Office Hours?

Q. How does Student Connect integrate with a college's existing website links for appointments?
A. Hi Claudio, this is a new LTI or application that must be installed on your Canvas by your Canvas admin

Q. How much storage space?
A. We do not limit storage space in TechConnect Cloud
Q. Can one use an external camera to zoom a live in class face-face lecture at the same time? if so what equipment and how could I set that up.
A. We do not advise on hardware setup but the support department may be able to give you some links to suggestions from Zoom. You can, however, share a 2nd camera when using the Advanced tab when sharing your screen.
Q. what's the URL to access the Techconnect Cloud product?

Q. Do we have to set up the meetings in a way to be stored in the cloud? Or automatically will be saved on the cloud?
A. You will need to enable cloud recordings yourself. Here's a link from our Zendesk knowledge base.

Q. Can we still order captions via the DECT in CCC TechConnect Cloud
A. Yes, same process as before
Q. Does it allow for quizzes on the media viewed by students?
A. Answered live.
Q. What is the size limit on storage capacity for TechConnect Cloud?
A. Uploads must be 1 GB or less
Q. Didn't CCC limit the amount of storage in CCC TechConnect Cloud? Is there an easy way to download large amounts of media in a zip file for files that has been previously uploaded?
A. No limits in TechConnect Cloud, no ability to bulk download in a zip file
Q. How can we continue managing appointments with students with TechConnect? There seems to be no link for this at this time or access to Student Connect.
A. Student Connect is ready for installation. Please contact your canvas admin to reach our support dept for installation
Q. I often record Zoom videos, but I haven't figured out an easy way to edit out things in the middle (I know how to snip off beginning and end). I have edited out parts from the middle by going to YouTube, but I wondered if there's an easier way. Advice?
A. You may need to find a 3rd party solution if you would like a more robust editing system as the Zoom tools only allow heads/tail "snipping"
Q. Do we still need extra paperwork to get captions to make video/lecture recordings compliant?
A. Please see the CCCCO memo "Updated Guidance on the Chancellor’s Office’s System Wide Prioritization for Real-time Captioning and Closed Caption Support" regarding changes to requirements*.
Q. I used PlayPosit last semester. The issue was a concern about the math editor not being accessible.
A. Currently, when equations are generated in PlayPosit via the rich text editor, the resulting image does not automatically have alt text added to it. There is, however, a text input field that will allow people to add alt text:
A forthcoming update will ensure that in the future, new equations automatically will have their alt text labels populated by the LaTeX formula of the equation so that all new equations will have alt text from the beginning, without instructor intervention.
Q. Deanza College has the interactivity?
A. Yes
Q. I think Crafton Hills College has this, but I have never used it. Does my college have it?
A. Yes
Q. Does Chaffey College have Playposit?
A. Yes
Q. Can students create their own video responses to a faculty video as a form of interactivity through PlayPosit?

Q. Does Sierra College have this interactivity?
A. Yes
Q. Woodland Community College?
A. Yes
Q. Does Compton College have Playposit?
A. We have started discussion on Compton Colleges interest in integrating, but it is not yet confirmed.
Q. How much does OTC cost?
A. Prices are currently TBD
Q. The issue is when I import a meeting into the TechConnnect Zoom in Canvas I can only have my office hour Zoom meeting link in one of my courses. I get the message "This meeting is already associated with another course and can not be imported into this course (2251)."
A. Exactly, a zoom meeting can only be imported to one course at the time. Similar to ConferZoom
Q. conference, online or in person?
A. Currently being planned as an in person conference in Long Beach, however, that could change depending on Covid19 pandemic.
Q. I noticed since we’ve migrated to Techconnect, I cannot open more than several tabs at a time or move from page to page without getting a message that says something like low resolution affecting audio when I am zooming with students. A handful of people I know are also experiencing the same issues. This didn’t happen last semester. I’m wondering if others are experiencing the same thing and what the solution is.

Q. Last semester Cuyamaca College had ConferZoom (ulgy interface) and this semester there is something called BigBlueButton (no idea what that is). When will TechConnect Zoom be available to us? This platform looks the most comprehensive and more intuitively designed, so I am really interested.

Q. Taft College does not appear to be using Tech Connect.
A. Taft college is it the process migrate to TechConnect, please contact your Canvas admin for more info
Q. Sometimes I have trouble uploading a recording I stored locally into canvas I think because the file is too big. Is there a limit?
A. Hi Sue, we don't have any info on Canvas file size limitations. In TechConnect Cloud the file must be under 1GB
Q. where can we access the recording
A. The recording will be on our Zendesk knowledge base support site. We will provide the link in our thank you for attending email within 4 days of attending the Webinar. We will send the link to those that registered for the Webinar and were unable to join us as well.
