Focus Mode gives the host and co-hosts a view of all participant videos (or names if not sharing video) without other participants being able to see one another. Meeting participants see themselves, the host/co-hosts, and those that the host has spotlighted.
During screen share, the host/co-host can view and switch between each participant’s shared screen, while participants can only view their own content. If the host finds a participant’s content should be shared with others, they can easily begin sharing the participant’s screen with others.
Account Settings
- Sign into your Zoom account.
- In the left navigation menu, click Settings.
- Under the Meeting tab, in the In Meeting (Advanced) section, enable Focus Mode. The optional setting Allow host to enable focus mode when scheduling allows you to schedule meetings that automatically start with Focus Mode when the meeting starts.
Use Focus Mode in a Meeting
- Start the meeting.
- Click More on the meeting toolbar.
- Click Start Focus Mode.
- Click Start to confirm. Select Don’t ask me again to skip this confirmation going forward.
The host and participants are notified with a banner at the top of the video. The Focus Mode icon will then be visible in the top-left corner of the video window.
Allow Others to View a Participants Shared Screen
- Click the up arrow to the right of the Share Screen.
- In the Shared screens can be seen by section, click All participants. To return to just host and co-hosts viewing shared content, select Host only.
Note: These options are only available when in Focus mode.
