Q: What is Playposit?
A: Playposit is an interactive web-based video platform that allows educators to provide formative assessment both inside and outside the classroom.
Q: Is this similar to Canvas Studio?
A: Yes, in the sense that PlayPosit is an interactive video platform that can be used in Canvas.
Q: Is PlayPosit now available to ALL colleges?

Q: I did not see 3CMedia on the slide listing videos PlayPosit can lay over. I am hoping it works with videos stored with 3C?

Q: So I have DVDs. Is there a way to use these ancient artifacts of another era?
A: If you are able to upload the DVDs to 3C Media, YouTube or Vimeo, then the content could be used.
Q: Can we export the questions, movie or bulb into a format that is extensible for campuses that don't have Canvas. XML, HTML5, H5P?

Q: Does our college have to contact TechConnect to have PlayPosit added to our LTIs?
Yes, support@ccctechconnect.org, because we are covering the cost for all California Community Colleges.
Q: If I have videos, can I import them into PlayPosit?
A: Yes, if you upload your videos to YouTube, 3C Media, or Vimeo, you can link to them in the PlayPosit Designer when creating your bulb.
Q: To add the app to the Canvas, what is the consumer key and password?

If your college is not onboarded, please have your Canvas Admin contact support@ccctechconnect.org to request the integration.
Q: What does your onboarding look like for those who are new to PlayPosit?
A: We work with your college Canvas Admin and responsible administrator to begin the onboarding process. Please email support@ccctechconnect.org for more information.
Q: With a library of pre-made videos, can faculty share their videos, either publicly or only within their institution?
A: Yes, you will have the ability to adjust your privacy settings.
Q: Can I create or record videos using PlayPosit?
A: That is not a feature that is currently available with the partnership.
Q: Can I use PlayPosit outside of Canvas?
A: CCC TechConnect institutional license is an integration with Canvas. Faculty and students access PlayPosit through Canvas. Please email support@ccctechconnect.org for more information.
Q: I’ve seen that each question on PlayPosit can have up to 10 points. Can we change the points and assign more points to each question?
A: You can adjust points. Currently 10 is the limit.
Q: I've found this to be difficult to use on mobile devices. Will this be improved?
A: Thank you for your feedback. PlayPosit will bring this to their team.
Q: Can Math equations also be typed?
A: Yes, PlayPosit has a LaTeX equation editor included within the designer.

Q: Is PlayPosit mobile friendly?
A: Yes! PlayPosit is optimized for mobile playback - the questions appear below the video to conserve space for video content.
Q: Will PlayPosit support videos stored in Instructure Studio?
A: Not at this time.
Q: Can students print their notes?

Q: Does PlayPosit only support multiple choice, fill in the blank, etc.(correct/incorrect triggers)? Or does it also support paragraph responses?
A: PlayPosit supports all of those interactions! Free response will allow you to support paragraph responses.
Q: Is there a way for student concern notes to be forwarded to instructors via analytics? Meaning, instead of instructors have to peep into student notes and mine the "help!" and "fuzzy" notations made by students, these are forwarded to instructors/compiled via analytics to easily indicate problem areas?
A: There is not currently a way to do that. PlayPosit does indicate on the notepad that instructors may view notes, but it isn’t guaranteed. Your feedback is something PlayPosit can consider moving forward, though, thanks!
Q: Are there accessibility issues for students who use screen readers, for example?
A: The PlayPosit player is fully screen readable.
Q: Is PlayPosit ADA compliant?

Q: Can I go back in to evaluate and grade? Does that then show up in the Canvas Gradebook?
A: You can manually grade and press a button to sync with Canvas.
Q: Do you know how much longer this will be supported as a free resource for California Community Colleges? I do not want to spend too much time learning something that will go away in a couple of years' time.
A: This is not a free temporary demo. This is planned in TechConnect's work plan and supported by the Chancellor's office.
Q: PlayPosit displayed the message "This feature is not available to your institution. For more info, contact your administrator or help@playposit.org" at the start of the process of creating a PlayPosit bulb when the option 'upload a video' was selected on the screen. Why did such error occur so early? Could someone help facilitate fixing this problem? Thanks!
A: Video upload and video record is not active under this CCC TechConnect institutional license. Please upload and store your videos in 3C Media, YouTube or Vimeo.
Q: When searching to see which parts of a video students had questions about, can we do so for the class as a whole (as opposed to one student at a time)?
A: Yes, you will have that ability by looking at bulb analytics.
Q: Analytics are real time?
A: Yes, they refresh in real time.
Q: Would you be able to add questions to library streaming video database films such as Films on Demand?
A: PlayPosit does not have an integration with FoD at this time.
Q: Does PlayPosit support videos in Kanopy?
A: Not at this time.
Q: What platform(s) do instructors/students need to run the program? Mac/PC?

Q: I understand that you do not currently have integrations with library databases, i.e. FoD or Kanopy, but is this a possibility? Or is there an intention to create an integration?
A: This has been a request in the past so hopefully down the road PlayPosit can develop an integration. Because these providers are proprietary about their video content, developing an integration is a large, lengthy task for PlayPosit.
Q: So there are iOS and Android cell phone apps?
A: No additional app is needed. It plays beautifully in the cell phone browser or via the Canvas app.
Q: If we upload our course to Canvas Commons, will folks who import the material be able to use the bulbs in their course?
A: Yes, bulbs can be used in the course copy feature.
Q: Can we bring other people's videos from YouTube to PlayPosit?
A: Yes, you can link to videos that are on YouTube and create bulbs with them.
Q: Does PlayPost have to be an Assignment? Or, can it be a Discussion Board or Page in Canvas?
A: As an assignment it will be graded. You can create an assignment through a Module, Page, or Discussion but it will be non-graded.
Q: Does PlayPosit's Canvas integration work properly with cross-listed sections?

Q: Does it show up in the To Do list on Canvas?
A: No the bulb does not show in the Canvas To Do list.
Q: When can I start using PlayPosit in Canvas?
A: If your college has onboarded you can use now!
Q: So users cannot record videos in PlayPosit/using PlayPosit right now under this TechConnect license for CCCs. But, could the application offer that feature, or is it in your roadmap?
A: The application does have that capability however TechConnect's license does not include this add-on feature.
Q: If we bring videos in from, say YouTube, do the YouTube captions come with the video. And, can PlayPosit users edit those captions if they are not perfect?
A: PlayPosit developers are working on an embedded caption editor! Coming soon.

Q: How does it work in mobile through Canvas?
A: PlayPosit is optimized for viewing content on any mobile device. Learners are able to access PlayPosit assignments through LMS applications such as Canvas.
Q: Do we get a roster of who attended?
A: We will not be providing a roster of today's attendees.

Q: I have students working on a bulb but the scores are not syncing with my Canvas gradebook. I have clicked on the sync button. Where do I find resources to help resolve this?

Q: How long does it usually take to have a college integrate PlayPosit?
A: Depends on the availability of staff at the college. Usual timeline is 30 - 60 days.
Q: Can you tell us which California Community Colleges are using this program currently?

Q: My college is not integrated, but can I use this today?
A: Please contact your Canvas Admin to get on the waitlist to integrate PlayPosit.
Q: Does PlayPosit have a captioning function? Speech to text?

Q: Can I login directly to PlayPosit.com with my Office 365?
A: TechConnect supports the PlayPosit platform once the college onboards and integrates through Canvas. We wouldn't be able to support direct login with your Office account. However, you might be able to find an answer here https://knowledge.playposit.com.
Q: How would our library video services have direct integration?
A: PlayPosit does not currently have integrations with library video services such as Kanopy.
