Q&A Responses
Great questions were asked during our 11-13-20 webinar. We combined questions, deleted duplicates, and added information to some of the responses.
Q: I work at two community colleges. Does that mean I need two cloud accounts?
A: Yes, you'll want to create two accounts, especially if you are using Canvas at each of your colleges.
Q: Is there a storage limit for an account?
A: We do not have storage limits at this time.
Q: What is the benefit of uploading a YouTube video? Can you upload someone else’s video (copyright issues?)?
A: The ads are stripped from any YouTube video added to your 3C Media account and played from the 3C Media video player. You can only add the YouTube link which does not actually upload the video.
Q: Will the DECT Grant captioning apply to youtube video uploads as well as self-authored videos?
A: We do not caption Youtube videos.
Q: Sorry if I missed it. How do you make a MC Media file link password protected? Does this usethe EZPRoxy for the campus?
A: We do not use EZProxy, nor do we password protect individual media files. You can use a share link instead and regenerate the key as needed.
Q: “Uploading’ YouTube is more ‘linking’ to a YouTube video, that makes more sense. Thank you for that clarification. Good to hear that it strips out the ads. And the 3C Media player provides all the accessibility tools of slowing down or speeding up playback. Do we get stats of how many views of a video?
A: Stats are not made available to our account holders. Adjusting playback speed also is not a feature 3C Media offers. A suggestion is to look into another service of ours, PlayPosit. Please email us at support@ccctechconnect.org for further information.
