A: Yes, as long as your account is with TechConnect Zoom, you can sync Canvas with TechConnect Zoom.

A: Students do not require an account to attend any meeting you schedule from Canvas, a ‘Join’ button will appear at the time of the Event or Appointment, which takes them into your meeting.

A: Yes. Recordings stored in the cloud can be downloaded as a movie file (mp4) on your desktop, then

A: We do not have a video, however, the Canvas Student Guide for ConferZoom can be shared with
students, and provides information on using the features of TechConnect Zoom in Canvas.
Q: Does the appointment slot appear for all classes that term when you set it up in one of your Canvas
A: Yes, Appointment Booking opportunities appear in all classes where you are enrolled as an instructor.
Q: I offer my office hours online and I usually sit in the Conference section for an hour for office hours.
Can I offer these appointment slots that last an hour total instead for office hours, or must this be in
addition to the contractual office hours?
A: We cannot respond to your contractual obligations, however, you could consider offering Canvas
ConferZoom office hours or appointments at the same time you are in the Conference section, giving
more students the opportunity to meet with you.
Q: Can you explain more about recordings. What is the point of that, and where will it reside once
A: Recordings are a great opportunity for students to review material after the fact, which can often clear
up questions and improve their understanding and grade performance. And, it is a good resource for you to refer students to view before they come to you with questions. Recordings created when the
meeting is launched from Canvas will automatically download to Canvas, they will be stored in the
cloud in your account (be sure your recording settings are cloud enabled).
Q: So you have to let students know to book through ConferZoom in Canvas?
A: Students may not be aware of TechConnect Zoom so you will have to provide that brief introduction to your class.
Q: Is there a way to also link these appts to the calendar in Canvas?
A: The Canvas calendar is not tied to the TechConnect Zoom (ConferZoom) events and appointments. You can use the email
settings to send you reminders or an agenda for each event or appointment.
Q: How do you download your zoom calendar to your Microsoft outlook calendar?
A: Visit zoom.us/downloads to find the plug-in for Outlook, the desktop client, Chrome, and Firefox.
Q: If I schedule an appointment through Canvas will this show up on my Zoom desktop app along with
my other regularly scheduled Zoom appointments I've made outside of Canvas?
A: Canvas acts as a placeholder for the meeting, it does not appear in your TechConnect Zoom website account
or desktop app until you trigger Canvas to talk to Zoom. This is done by either launching the session,
or just click on the ‘More Details’ link that appears when you select your meeting and click the + sign
