Live attendance is tracked when the student enters the session using the 'Join' button. If you invite a student who joins directly from Zoom, outside of Canvas, the information will not be available in Canvas. To view details, click on the 'Event Attendance' tab, then 'View Records' for the individual events.
Canvas does not provide the details for who viewed a recording, however, you can obtain the
analytics on recording views or downloaded copies. Read this article 'Recordings: Options
and Analytics' to learn more.
Select the event to view; details can be downloaded to a CSV spreadsheet file.
Sign-In to your TechConnect Zoom (ConferZoom) account to verify your Cloud recording setting is enabled; Cloud recordings created through meetings scheduled in the learning management system will download into the course when the 'View Recordings' button is clicked. Students and instructors can access the recordings from the 'Event Recordings' tab.
'View Recordings' provides several options for files to view:
Files designated with (Streaming) will run on the web, all others will open in a player or downloaded file.
M4A - Audio only files, open on a media player
MP4 – Audio, Video, Content, Audio Transcript/Caption opens on a media player
Transcript - Text file of the conversation when viewed on the web
CHAT - the text chat entered by participants during the session.
Recordings from this page can only be open when signed into Canvas, an will open in the Zoom platform. An audio transcript file is attached to the recording. Click the 'CC' icon to overlay the text onto the video. Click the 'Audio Transcript' button on the top right of the recording to read the text on the right panel of the recording screen.
