Q&A:
Q: Can you provide more details about the LTI and how it works with Canvas?
A: The LTI (Learning Tool Integration) is a connection between a service and Canvas. You can see this in the left panel, where both 3C Media and TechConnect Zoom LTI are listed.
Q: Is there any cost associated with the LTI?
A: There is no cost associated with the LTI.
Q: Will you notify us when LTI 1.3 is ready for deployment, provide instructions on how to integrate it into Canvas, and inform us on how to join the interest list?
A: Please email support@ccctechconnect.org with the subject line "LTI Beta."
Q: What is the timeframe between when the tool becomes available for users to move their recordings to 3C Media and the first deletion of recordings?
A: We anticipate the tool will be available within the next 3-6 months. It would be beneficial to register for a 3C Media account, as several changes are expected in the near future.
Q: Does removing a user also remove their recordings?
A: Yes, removing a user makes their recordings unavailable. If you need to retain the recordings, a Zoom administrator can transfer them to another user within the user's district/college TechConnect Zoom account when the user is removed.
Q: Are there two separate policies—one for the recording date and another for storage capacity, depending on the group level?
A: The retention policy remains the same. If you allow users in a group to keep recordings longer than other users in your district/college, Zoom will adhere to that criterion EXCEPT WHEN THE AUTO DELETE SETTING IS LOCKED AT THE ACCOUNT LEVEL.
Q: Are the TechConnect Zoom accounts HIPAA-compliant?
A: All TechConnect Zoom accounts are HIPAA-compliant for all users.
Q: When will the TechConnect grant be renewed?
A: The Zoom grant is active for three more years. We do not anticipate another platform replacing Zoom; however, the decision will be made by the Chancellor's Office at that time.
