Webinar Slide Deck:
A downloadable PDF slide deck from the December 11, 2024, presentation that introduced
A Year in Review - Highlighting Zoom Tools in 2024 - Part 1 is at the bottom of this page.
Description:
Zoom provides support for your everyday work life with tools to collaborate, schedule, organize, and use within the classroom. As 2024 drew to a close, it was time to wind down and get ready to wind up in 2025 as you prepare for the New Year!
Attendees were introduced to, or reminded of, some great time-saving tools. This session is part one of two where we discussed the Zoom Workplace App, Zoom Notes, Zoom Docs, Zoom Clips, Zoom Surveys, Zoom Whiteboards, and the Zoom integration in Canvas.
Just a note…watch for part two in January 2025 and gear up with Zoom tools using AI Companion.
Q&A:
Q: Is Zoom Notes available to students in a Zoom class through Canvas?
A: No, they are not. However, Zoom is working on making enhancements to the Canvas LTI.
Q: I have Notes enabled, but I cannot see it available on my toolbar for this meeting.
A: Since this is a webinar, tools are available to the host only. You will see the feature available in your Zoom Meetings.
Q: Is five clips the maximum number per user?
A: Five clips are standard for our accounts; when you delete a clip, another can be added. Clips Plus is an available add-on license offering unlimited clips with no duration limit.
Q: Are there drawbacks to Zoom Docs that would make keeping them disabled at the institutional level a reasonable choice?
A: Your district determines the availability of all features.
Q: Are Notes, Docs, Clips, Surveys, Whiteboard, and All Screens mode free tools?
A: Zoom includes these tools as part of your TechConnect Zoom educational account.
Q: Does the participating shared screen show multiple monitors/screens if a person has them set?
A: When using All Screens mode, only the primary monitor is shared.
Q: Are these features available in the Breakout Rooms or only in the main room?
A: Yes, Notes, Docs, and Whiteboard work in the Breakout Rooms for the host and anyone they share with.
Q: I accessed Notes from my desktop Notes, and did not see Notes Templates.
A: Templates are only available on the Zoom web portal.
Q: When a Zoom administrator locks a feature, such as Zoom Notes, what does that mean?
A: When a setting is locked, it restricts you from changing the setting, only the Zoom administrator(s) can change the setting.
