Firefox, Chrome, and Safari settings may prevent the 3C Media tool from inserting videos from TechConnect Cloud (formerly known as 3C Media) into your Canvas class. Browsers are increasing security settings, which may prevent the 3C Media integration in Canvas from validating user data, resulting in an error stating that you do not have access to the video.
Please note, TechConnect does not support browser issues, but we are providing these guidelines to help resolve the issues. Remember browser and operating system versions vary, and settings options may be in locations other than described below.
Firefox
- Copy and paste about:preferences#privacy into your Firefox browser's address bar.
- Under 'Browser Privacy' 'Enhanced Tracking Protection', select Custom.
- Uncheck the box next to Cookies.
- Scroll down to Cookies and Site Data.
- Click on Clear Data.
- Keep checkmark next to Cookies and site data and Temporary cached files and pages and click on Clear.
- Exit the Firefox browser, then open it again.
- Log in to Canvas and use the 3C Media tool to insert a video, confirming that it can now be uploaded.
Chrome
To manage third-party cookie settings in Chrome:
- Click the ellipsis (three dots) in the top-right corner of the Chrome window.
- Scroll down to Settings, then Privacy and Security.
- Select Third-party cookies.
- Click to select Allow all third-party cookies.
- Alternatively, keep third-party cookies blocked but add exceptions.
- Scroll to Sites allowed to use third-party cookies.
- Click the Add button and paste these URLs
- https://ccctechconnect.instructure.com
- https://3cmediasolutions.org.
- Click the Add button.
- Alternatively, keep third-party cookies blocked but add exceptions.
- Log in to Canvas and use the 3C Media tool to insert a video, confirming that it can now be uploaded.
Safari (Prior to version 17)
- Clear cookies in Safari, close the browser, then relaunch Safari.
- From top-left the Safari menu in the top-left corner, choose Preferences, then select Privacy.
- Uncheck Website tracking and Block all cookies.
- Check Allow privacy-preserving measurement of ad effectiveness.
- Log in to Canvas and use the 3C Media tool to insert a video, confirming that it can now be uploaded.
Safari (version 17 and newer)
- Clear cookies in Safari, close the browser, then relaunch Safari.
- From the Safari menu in the top-left corner, choose Settings, then select Privacy.
- Uncheck Prevent cross-site tracking.
- On the top ribbon, select Advanced.
- Uncheck Block all cookies.
- Check Allow privacy-preserving measurement of ad effectiveness.
- Log in to Canvas and use the 3C Media tool to insert a video, confirming that it can now be uploaded.

Note:
- Although we are in the process of rebranding 3C Media Solutions to TechConnect Cloud, the LTI in Canvas is still branded as '3C Media'.
