The new Zoom LTI is product is developed by Zoom, and connects directly to the users Zoom account resulting in more options when scheduling class meetings and quicker access to recordings.

The TechConnect Zoom Users Guide (for the Zoom LTI) is a starting point of how to use the new Zoom LTI. Please note the new Zoom LTI is only available in a subaccount.
Below are some questions we received, and our responses to alleviate concerns about the new LTI:
Q: The Zoom LTI can not be used with the ConferZoom desktop app.
A: False. Meetings scheduled through the new LTI will appear in the desktop app, and the meeting can be started from the app, the website portal, or through Canvas.
Q Existing meetings would be canceled by the switch.
A: False. Meetings and recordings follow the user. If sharing a link from a pre-migration scheduled
meeting or recording, an interim workaround to change the text in the URL is needed - Zoom expects
to have this fixed for an automatic redirect by the end of the year (Dec2020) . If meetings scheduled in
Canvas pre-migration for dates post-migration, the faculty has to import the meetings into the new
LTI, a simple process.
Q: Users not in Canvas would no longer have access to Zoom/ConferZoom or any other Zoom.
A: False. All user that migrate to a subaccount will have access to Zoom with or without the LTI.
