Q&A
Q: Must an entire district move to subaccounts or can a single college have their subaccount if other colleges in the District do not.
A: At this time subaccount migration is restricted to entire districts.
Q: Does Compton College have s sub account?
A: We are currently in active engagement with Compton College. We are looking at June to complete the subaccount process, but it’s best to follow up with your IT Director for further timeline updates.
Q: Currently Full HD (1080P) is locked by admin. Would a subaccount allow us to enable that feature?
A: Yes, in addition, we are working on an option to enable subaccounts to purchase the additional storage that the HD recordings require.
Q: Can we license Zoom phone (Helpdesk) at this time?
A: Yes, we do not manage Zoom phone (Helpdesk) licenses; please send us a ticket to support@ccctechconnect.org and we can put you in touch with the salesperson at Zoom that would assist you with that.
Q: Will every District eventually have to move to subaccounts? Or is it optional?
A: Currently it is optional but strongly suggested. This may change according to the needs of the CCC System.
Q: Are there extra costs to this?
A: There is no cost for the college to move over into a subaccount. However, subaccounts can purchase optional add-ons such as Zoom Rooms, Webinar licenses, Large Meeting Licenses, additional storage.
Q: While we would get much more flexibility, we are concerned about the increased support workload we would have to take on. Can you talk about what other colleges are doing to staff the incremental support (if anything)?
A: We continue to provide product support and training for college staff who have questions about the way Zoom works, the college will only need to support the subaccount management.
Q: Just to confirm, we will be able to create new accounts for our employees?
A: That is correct. Moving over into a subaccount would allow the subaccount administrator for the college to create new accounts for employees.
